Bug Description

Binary package hint: bluez-gnome

This option was earlier configurable with last version in preferences. Now it's also not possible to initiate sending a file from mobile to computer (due to this, I guess).

"accept all incoming requests" had nothing to do with file receiving. The option to enable file receiving with help of obex-data-server has been moved to gnome-user-share. Please install gnome-user-share and tell us if it doesn't work.

An easier way is to simply browse files on your phone/pda. You can right click on the bluetooth icon in panel and select 'Browse files on device ...' This does not need installation of any additional software.

Yea, I know I can browse, but I don't know. Somehow I like more the ability to just push send on my phone, or when someone else wants to send something to me.

Installed the gnome-user-share, but sending from my phone is still impossible. It was possible with the first Intrepid Beta.

Have you enabled 'Receive files over bluetooth' in System -> Preferences -> Personal File Sharing?

The bluetooth stack in intrepid beta was version 3.x. Now it is changed to 4.x as 3.x is not actively maintained upstream.

Yes, I have enabled that. I've also done a reboot, but that didn't help.

A nother ting, ti's not possible to use right-click and "send to" bluetooth anymore. I get an error saying obex push is not supported. And that's a MAJOR drawback...

Can you please file a separate bug for 'send to' problem. I can confirm it.

You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

Using Karmic 9.10. -
Using Nokia N70
Using Gnome Nautilus
Using blutooth connection.

Directory browsing was available immediately after registering the device in gnome blutooth applet.
file transfer form N70 to Pc was *NOT* possible. (nor acting from the mobile NOR acting directly form nautilus)

The problem was resolved ONLY after installing gnome-user-share from synaptic.... after reading this bug in lauchpad.

BUT I can send fies ONLY acting from the mobile.
If I drag files form Nautilus the file copy dialog last forever.
Maybe Nautilus module stil buggy....

Please consider installing automatically gnome-user-share when installing bluethoot applet.

Any help in solving Nautilus problem would be appreciated.
