Bug Description

Performance on this graphics chip is glacial.

GLXgears, that fine piece of benchmark ware is reporting about 190fps. glxinfo reports direct rendering on.
AA text is at 31,000char/second. Something stinks in Denmark. I'll attach logs....

Cjg@ubuntu:~$ glxgears
958 frames in 5.0 seconds = 191.587 FPS
944 frames in 5.0 seconds = 188.654 FPS

Thanks for your report. It's slow because DRI is disabled. I don't know why glxinfo thinks something else... Can you please attach glxinfo output? The "rendering string" should tell. Please also attach your xorg.conf

Your log shows server 1.5.1 while we're at 1.5.2 in Ubuntu 8.10, so please reattach all logs after updating.

I am not even sure DRI is enabled by default for your card. You can try
 Option "DRI"
in the Device section of xorg.conf.

I've checked with upstream: the particular integrated graphics chip has a funky GART, for which
ATI has not yet released specs.

Sigh... Would that they delivered what they promised on specs....

Ah, good to know. What is the PCI ID for this card? (Output of lspci -vvnn would answer this)
