Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.27-5-generic

Hi,

could you please add ext4 support in the kernel? Either as module or built-in:

CONFIG_EXT4DEV_FS is not set

in linux-image-2.6.27-5-generic

Thx

Hi Christian,

Looks like this is already enabled in the current Intrepid git tree:

ogasawara@yoji:~/ubuntu-intrepid/debian/config$ grep -rn "CONFIG_EXT4DEV_FS=" *
amd64/config:761:CONFIG_EXT4DEV_FS=m
i386/config:810:CONFIG_EXT4DEV_FS=m

You'll probably want to try one of the newer kernels, say 2.6.27-7 . Thanks.

I've got 2.6.27-7 and I can't mount an new ext4 volume (created with $ sudo mkfs.ext4 /dev/sdb5 -L Ubuntu8.10) :

$ sudo mount /dev/sdb5 /media/Ubuntu8.10/
mount: type inconnu de système de fichiers 'ext4'

Notice that I didn't use mkfs.ext4dev that may be different
