Bug Description

Binary package hint: bluez-utils

I have the same problem. Bluetooth file transfer to and from my mobile phone doesn't work anymore after I upgraded from hardy to intrepid. Detection of the mobile phone seems to be working. I'm using an USB bluetooth stick for file transfer,
Bus 005 Device 002: ID 1131:1001 Integrated System Solution Corp. KY-BT100 Bluetooth Adapter
The usb device name probably changed since hardy but I'm not sure about that.
When trying to send a file to a mobile phone I get the following error message:
Service search failed
After i press 'again' i get the following error message:
Method "CreateBluetoothSession" with signature "ssb" on interface "org.openobex.Manager" doesn't exist
When attempting to send a file from my mobile phone to PC, the PC is not detected.
Needless to say the bluetooth adapter is not damaged because it works under windows and ubuntu hardy.
Feel free to ask for any further info.
Please help.

Thanks for your bug report. In order to find where is the issue, can you provide the following informations?

1. Can you reproduce this bug with a up-to-date intrepid?
2. What are all the steps to reproduce the bug?
3. Can you reproduce the problem and then attach the files created by these commands in a terminal?

sudo lspci -nnvv > lspci-nnvv.log
dmesg > dmesg.log

1. Yes I can reproduce it anytime and I always use an up-to-date version of ubuntu.
2. I just inserted the bluetooth adapter mentioned earlier and used the bluetooth icon that appeared. "send file" or something like that. I followed these steps in hardy with no problems.
3. Attachments included. (more of them in next messages)

Thanks for these additional informations. However, the cause of the problem is still unknown and since I'm not a expert with bluetooth, I can't ask you more information. At least now the bug is visible and ubuntu bluetooth team can see it and ask you questions if needed.

So far I've not been able to reproduce the bug except once, while my cell phone was trying to detect if my computer accept bluetooth transfer while I was trying to send a file to the cell phone at the same time. Visibly, my cell phone didn't like that I enabled file transfer support on my computer while it was scanning, I needed to reboot it. Once rebooted, Sending to and from the cell phone works flawlessly, each time.

I've marked this as a duplicate, because once all the tasks in bug 274950 are finished this is resolved. If it does end up to persist AFTER all those tasks are closed, reopen this bug.

The same errors like all the others here. I'll attach the results of

Please reopen this bug. It looks like it can't be done with "simple" user rights here...
