Bug Description
I'm having a kernel freeze sometimes during the boot, but there is no log in /var/log
I booted without the "splash" and "quiet" option to see more debug, but unfortunately the output was not visible because graphic was totally corrupted.
I also added the option vga=normal to see if the screen corruption does not present anymore, but this didn't help.
this bug happens sometimes (once every 4-5 boots) since linux 2.6.27 and it is present now in 2.6.27-7-generic
There was a similar problem in earlier 2.6.26, but it could be workarounded by removing "splash". Now the problem is present even without "splash".
I have an HP laptop dv6627el, 2Gb ram, 1.66 Core2duo, intel x3100

The 2.6.27-6 Ubuntu kernel was most recently released. It would be great if you could test and verify if this is still an issue with this newest kernel. If the issue still exists, per the kernel team's bug policy, can you please attach the following information. Please be sure to attach each file as a separate attachment.
* cat /proc/version_ signature > version.log
* dmesg > dmesg.log
* sudo lspci -vvnn > lspci-vvnn.log
