Ubuntu changes WPA2-password by itself

Bug Description

I'm using a HP pavillion dv1000 and updated ubuntu less than 24 hours ago. I"m using version 8.04

for some time, the WLAN works fine. But then, the lamp indicating the connection flickers and the connection is lost. Itcan take 5 - 25 minutes until the lamp flickers. It is only for seconds and then the WLAN is back. Once it is back the connection is there, but there is no data transmission any more since the password was changed

I found out that the system changes the network password by itself. Sometimes the connection is re-established upon changing the password again, sometimes not.

It writes a number into the password field which looks like a physical address of a device (07357f3ad73a04e1aa26fd60fb412c2a19cc2dbb9886c5471e71597ba4afb1d). It is very insisting on this password, so I gave up changing it and went back to cable connection
