Nvidia accelerated graphics driver does not install

HI

I've just install Ubuntu 8.10 beta release. I have a problem with Nvidia accelerated graphics driver while I did not have that issue in 8.04

When I try to install the Nvidia accelerated graphics driver (version 96 or 71) as recomended in "Pilotes de periphérique" (As i'm using the french version), the system download it and try to activate it but at the end the driver is not activated and the computer does not boot anymore without reconfiguring the card with the ubuntu driver
