Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Could you try to reproduce the same with Ubuntu 8.10 or 9.04? Thanks in advance.

No I am not having this issue anymore. It could have been related to a variety of IM clients in use on different PCs/Phones/Laptops etc that had added a friend when I didnt have that on the pidgin release.

So I dont have a remedy, but its ok now thanks.

I got the same error.
I try (totally) uninstalling pidgin and reinstalling it from synaptic, but the bug doesn´t dissapear.

I was using a couple of different OSs and chat clients and not sure if someone tried to add them to my contacts list and they weren't matching up...

As its stands now tho.. I havent got the issue anymore, so check to see if you have any outstanding requests from other chat clients?!?

Miranda IM and amsn work just fine, no errors, no outstanding request.

Note: i was wrong about the error number, it was 204, not 205. This bug is also being revised on the pidgin`s web: http://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/8988

Thanks for the report, it has been some time without any response or feedback in this bug report and we are wondering if this is still an issue for you with the latest release of Ubuntu the Natty Narwhal, May you please test with that version and comment back if you're still having or not the issue?
