Problem calling purple_gnome_proxy_get_info()

Bug Description

Binary package hint: pidgin

i upgrade to Intrepid. (8.10)
Now, when i try use pidgin for first time, it crashes because dont read the prefences. I tried delete the directoy ~.purple and repeat the steps for create a account. Pidgin crashes while try auth any account. Using 'dmesg' i got this

Please, try to obtain a backtrace by following the instructions on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash.
(install packages 'pidgin-dbg' and 'gdb' and see here for backtrace https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace)

The backtrace generated by Pidgin is an attachment http://launchpadlibrarian.net/18222945/error-pidgin

If need a backtrace more specific, i will go the steps

I fear they need a more detailed backtrace (they will notably appreciate line number). So please try to do what I wrote.

I think your problem is explained here:

Should be fixed in 2.5.2.

Hi, the upstream bug has been fixed in version 2.5.2, which is in Intrepid. Can you confirm the bug is resolved?

I have Pidgin 2.5.3 and i haven't detected this bug on this version.
