Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

www.texanscu.org does not display. Only part of it displays. It worked with previous versions of Firefox. Other websites work. The frame part of the website is displayed. I'm going to Try Firefox 3.01 on my XP PC and see if it has the same problem. I"ve cleared all us er data. Not sure what is going on.

I tried it on Windows and there was no problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Allan Baker

I have the same issue. I can't tell if it was texan's that change something or Firefox. Firefox 3.0.3 on my Mac also does the same thing. They recently swtiched the site over to ASP.NET and when it hits the "VIEWSTATE" tag in the form with that gigantic hidden form variable it blows up and then renders correctly down the page. However if you go to VIew->Page Style->No Style , you can see the page. The webdeveloper toolbar can't see any of the elements in the dom between most of the page. Its really really odd.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu a better place. This appears to be similar to a bug with flashplugin-nonfree. There is an update in the Hardy Backports and I would recommend downloading that package. You will need to enable that repository temporarily and download the package and disable that repository again (unless you want that repository open, its dangerous on production machines).
If you need more detailed instructions on how to do this, please let me know and I can assist you.

it turns out the bug was entirely the credit unions fault on their site. They recently switched to a new development team that has never used anything but .NET and Internet Explorer in their lifes and stuck a giant html table with a height of 100% over the cotents of the page using their WYSIWYG frontpage decedent tool. We were tracking this same bug on mozilla's "report broken site" page and after they updated their page it all works.

I recommend closing this bug.

Brian: this bug is not related to flashplugin. It's just bad html. Not good to link it with that project.

This bug is actually bad html in the page by the authors. Not a bug with Firefox or Flashplugin.

The Texans web development team fixed it. See http://support.mozilla.com/tiki-view_forum_thread.php?locale=lt&comments_parentId=169445&forumId=1 for more details.
