Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

The functionality to navigate back and forward through recent browsing history using the appropriate buttons in the toolbar seems to be broken since the last update (yesterday?) Buttons are greyed out.

ProblemType: Bug
Architecture: i386
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 8.10
Package: firefox-3.0 3.0.3+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu1
ProcEnviron:
 PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games
 LANG=en_US.UTF-8
 SHELL=/bin/bash
SourcePackage: firefox-3.0
Uname: Linux 2.6.27-4-generic i686

apparently this is caused by Firefox not being able to write its browsing history due to limited disk space in the user-directory. Freeing up some space resolves the issue.

I would, however, expect Firefox to give some information about this.

Would you like to change the bug description accordingly and report it for "Should inform when there is not enough disk space in user directory"? If so, please change the description of the bug. Else this bug can be closed.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Could you try to reproduce the same with Ubuntu 8.10 or 9.04? Thanks in advance.

I had the same "bug" on a computer with limited harddrive space also.

Parthan SR: I updated the description accordingly.

Pedro Villavicencio: Sorry, I can't attempt to reproduce this at the moment. As a mentioned in the original description, this was related to 8.10, and still seems to be an issue according to Michael Fallows' report from 2009-02-21.
