Bug Description

The video display flickers at the initial video resolution. 1900x1200. In between flickers, I select the display options and the resolution goes lower. The flickering problem goes away.

After adjusting the resolution, the Kubuntu menu bar at the bottom changes in length and only extends about 3/4 of the bottom display. When the display is flickering, the menu bar displayed across the entire bottom of the screen.

After making the adjustment to the video resolution, (lowered it), and the system reboots, the setting adjustments are forgotten and the process of readjusting the display has to be re-done.

let me know what other info I can provide.

Sorry, I meant to say 'ubuntu-bug'.

It looks like something in KDE is polling xrandr routines, causing the blinking. We saw something similar in GNOME for a while, before the gtk libs got fixed to not do it.
