Bug Description
Sometimes Mixxx doesn't manage to open a soundcard at startup, and there's some hole in the logic in our code that allows this to happen without an error appearing. A user will then do something like try to load a track and hit play, and nothing will happen. They won't have any idea what's going on.
I need to fix this, because it can give a terrible first impression when it happens, and it leaves people confused. This is important.
