Bug Description

I just upgraded, to the following version of:

ii gnome-themes 2.13.2-0ubuntu1 official themes
for the GNOME 2 desktop

as well as all the dbus transition packges as it seemed from the dist-upgrade
output.

I also noticed the g-c-m was not upgraded yet, and installed in anyways (apt-get
install in order to workaround the "hold" status it was in)

And I no longer have the theme'd GNOME cursor , just the default X one.

Please let me know what additional info I could provide

I sort of have this too. The standard black cursor is used in GDM and in some
widgets of programs, on other widgets the Human cursor is displayed. For
instance, here using galeon I have the Human cursor when it is over the gecko
canvas but as soon as I move it over any other widgets on the window it changes
to the X black cursor.

I'm using latest dapper packages.

Thanks for your bug. Do you have the issue with the desktop or only on the gdm
screen?

I'm seeing this too. I now have the nice cursors in my desktop, but it's only
because I specified a cursor theme in the mouse capplet;

It seems that xorg doesn't respect the x-cursor-theme alternative

I installed Ubuntu using the desktop CD, and the cursor theme in GDM was the expected (white) one. However, since I apt-get'ed kubuntu-desktop, I'm back to the X black cursor theme. Could this bug perhaps be reopened?

Yes, ubuntu-artwork is install. And doing a "sudo apt-get install --reinstall ubuntu-artwork" actually fixes the problem. Cheers.
