keep cannot compress backup

Bug Description
keep 0.4.0-1ubuntu3
I have just tested keep and I think it is a neat way of making backups but I had a few errors while testing it.
Even though compression was chosen, files are still copied to destination in original form (not compressed)
I would expect something like a tar.gz with the name of the folder and the date
