Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

I was trying to upload photos to Facebook and was prompted to install missing plugins. Firefox displayed to me a list of 4 possible options:

GCJ ..something...
Java 1.6 SE..
Java 1.5 SE...
GCJ...something...(Open JDK)

I selected the first in the list (I didn't really know which to choose so went with the default) and it downloaded and installed. I refreshed the Facebook page and Firefox displayed a message box about how some security hadn't yet been implemented and so it was risky to enable plugins (I think) and I could choose one of three buttons (don't enable, enable this once, enable and whitelist this plugin). However, the message box never fully rendered and it wasn't possible to click the buttons (another time, the whole message box was empty). When I tried to close the message box with the top-right cross, I got the usual dialog asking if I wanted to 'wait' or 'force quit' but the dialog itself couldn't identify the app that I was force-quitting - it just displayed " ".

I was prompted to send a report and the system gathered data and created this bug report for me.
