[intrepid] alpha 6 - on battery power, display slowly dims then brightens for no reason

Bug Description

When running on battery power (no AC plugged in), every few minutes, the display slowly dims then slowly brightens again. After a few minutes, it does the same again. I'm just browsing the web but it's not that the display is responding to a lack of activity (eg reading and no mouse movement) because waggling the mouse makes no difference (eg it just continues dimming).

When I had a look in the Power Management dialog, the On Battery Power tab is missing so I don't know what the battery power settings are. I'm sure that it is present on this machine in Hardy (I'll double-check next time I reboot into Hardy).

I have installed all the alpha 6 updates to date.

On a Samsung Q35 laptop.
