got the same crash.

i was watching some xvid tv episodes and then played with the video options and enabled "Psychedelic". First the CPU usage gone wild and after ~1-2mins VLC crashed

Doesn't happen for me anymore, but can't say which package fixed it since i never tried to repro it again...
