Bug Description
Binary package hint: tvtime
I'll open gnome-terminal, run the tvtime command and close directly gnome-terminal. Tvtime window is closed, but sound is staying further. Process tvtime as well is open.
tvtime 1.0.2-0.3ubuntu2
I see what the OP means.
In my case the sound remains, but the "tvtime" process is correctly terminated.
The same happens if you kill tvtime by any other method, that is, "kill PID", "pkill tvtime" or "xkill" the window, or even "End process" from the "System monitor".
For reference:
Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex)
tvtime 1.0.2-0.3ubuntu2
My TV card is ENLTV-FM Rev. 3.0, which has the "Philips Semiconductors SAA7130 Video Broadcast Decoder (rev 01)" and uses the "saa7134" and "saa7134_alsa" kernel modules.
My motherboard is the VIA-based Biostar K8M800-M7A, with K8M800 northbridge and VT8237 southbridge, using the "snd-via82xx" kernel module.
It is not a high-importance bug. It's only a little annoying.
