Bug Description

Binary package hint: network-manager

I have upgraded to From Hardy to Intrepid.

I Connected a Nokia N95 (N95-1) via USB, option for "Auto GSM network connection" becomes available as expected.

Upon clicking it I get the network manager spinner, two green lights then the system freezes a few seconds later. Unable to kill X or do anything else, can't ping the system anymore (although this may be because networkmanager has disconnected my ethernet connection, i'm not sure of the behavior there)

As a secondary issue I noticed that under intrepid knetworkmanager is being loaded (i have the kubuntu-desktop package) as well as networkmanager as part of gnome startup. Before doing this test I quit knetworkmanager and made sure it is not running, so i'm assuming for now that didn't cause the problem.

network-manager:
  Installed: 0.7~~svn20080908t183521+eni0-0ubuntu4

Confirmed. Freezes system sometimes or just doesn't work without any indication of failure. Using N95-1 on Vodafone UK.

Same problem.

Intrepid freezes when using Novatel Ovation MC930D 3G modem on Dell E4300 laptop.

Syslog shows nothing. Scroll-lock is not blinking.

Is possible to debug this problem somehow?

I have a 5310 XpressMusic. When I connect it via USB and choose PC-suite on the phone, the connection 'Telia' becomes available in the network manager. I can without problems connect to the internet, but when I choose to disconnect it from the network manager, my computer freezes.

Could it be related?
Anywhere I can look for info?
