Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

I am running hardy heron 8.04 not the alternative on a dell inspiron 8600 and use firefox 3.0.2

there are no visible wireless controls in my panel display using the internal wireless, however when I plug in
Netgear WG511T 108Mbps 32-bit wireless card the icon that looks like two terminals changes and shows signal strength. If I click the icon with the card in I can see other wireless networks to choose from. With the card all I see is the icon that looks like two terminals and hovering my mouse over the icon it says Manual network configuration and when I right click it, it displays these options; Enable networking with a checkmark in front of it; next option has a round icon then says Connection Information but cannot be choosen; then Edit Wireless networks; then last ...another round icon with the word About. Left click produces a radio button with the words Wired Network next to it but that is not choosable it is light grey; then Manual Confirguration

Here is some info from the terminal I think you might want. When I got this the card was removed.

Thanks for looking at this!

Do you send <email address hidden> a notice when there is a response?

This is due to the fact that you have not installed the necessary drivers for your wireless card. This question is better suited for the forums or answer section of launchpad and is not really a bug

According to the WifiDocs your card is supported out of the box https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HardwareSupportComponentsWirelessNetworkCardsIntel Please make sure that you have the correct driver enabled
