Bug Description

Board D945GCLF
OS 8.04 with updates
Kernel 2.6.24-19-41 (in updates), also tried 2.6.24.-21 in proposed

Problem: ACPI - board won't power off from a shutdown (CLI or GNOME). Screen goes black but machine still draws full idle power (I measured it with a meter repeatedly to make sure).

Note: Many other problems have been noted with this board. I report other issues such as NIC, etc working properly (as far as I know) with updated kernels mentioned above.

ACPI is still a problem with newer kernel 2.6.27-14. The shutdown command does not actually power off the machine. Full power is still running through the board, and video output is still active.

BTW, Does anyone work here?

Maybe related to bug 254326?

I don't think so, not related. The only problem I am having (and everyone else on this board), now with a new kernel, is how to turn it off with a shutdown. I have tried many acpi kernel options with NO luck.

HOW DO WE GET THIS BOARD TO TURN OFF?

Hardy has reached end of life. Have you had this issue with 12.04 or later?
