Bug Description

When unplugging a USB network device (using drivers inside ndiswrapper), on
plugging the device back in, ndiswrapper/modprobe doesn't update the "network
tools" gui... however, typing in WLAN0 or ETH0 in the "name" box, activates the
"configure" button, after which you can activate the appropriate network
interface...

Thanks for your bug report. http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=331073 had a similar upstream bug report, where I followed up with your information.

What version of Ubuntu do you use? Could you try with edgy. What do you call "doesn't update the "network tools" gui"? Does it happen only if it's running? Does restarting the tool makes a difference? From what '"name" box' do you speak?

I just ran across this yesterday at a LUG event with one of the Linksys USB wireless key fobs.

As soon as I unplugged it it stopped, and upon plugging it back in it did nothing.

I believe this is a ndiswrapper issue, so I have moved it accordingly.

Please provide more details:
* the output of:
   - lsusb
   - dmesg | grep -A6 ndiswrapper
* "driver bug according to upstream" link to the statement

Also try with later versions of ndiswrapper.
