Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Could you try to reproduce the same with Ubuntu 8.10 or 9.04? Thanks in advance.

Hi Pedro,
I have the same problem using opera/firefox, some flash objects show Arabic characters separated not well shaped!
I believe it is an ubuntu problem as it works fine under windows using the same firefox/opera

same problem here , ubuntu 9.10 64bit clean install , the problem is in the flash player , I see Arabic fonts from left to right (where is should be right to left) and the characters are separated and not well shaped ,

the problem is not in Firefox but in Flash plugin

It's a bug in Flash. Either Flash player/Shockwave plugin for Firefox, or the player in general (i.e.: standalone and plugin).
..there have been discussions and bug reports on this issue since last year!
We need to escalate the issue upwards to developers of Flash..at Adobe..FOSS players' developers..any.
