When opening this site:

http://linux.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Audio/QSFM-Quick-Soundfont-Manager-38521.shtml

Firefox opens the site with no problem, but it hangs after approximately one minute if I left the website open (The CPU indicator shows 97%). The problem is repeatable on my machine (Ubuntu Hardy 8.04).

The build version is firefox 3.0.1 + build1 + nobinonly + 0ubuntu0.8.04.3

  1. Go to http://linux.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Audio/QSFM-Quick-Soundfont-Manager-38521.shtml

I normalized your bug report, but before I can move it on, I need a little more information.
I was not able to generate the same result following your steps. To assist the developers in correcting this problem, we need a backtrace of the crash. You can find details on how to generate one here.

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MozillaTeam/Bugs#head-c576e78d92cb3c959c271158b6ace98be835de83

Please generate a backtrace file on a clean Firefox user profile and attach it here. Thank you.

Unfortunately (or fortunately?) I cannot reproduce the bug myself. I'm not sure what've changed so far here but somehow it's fixed now. The installed version is now listed as 3.0.3+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.1 instead of 0.8.04.3
