Bug Description

Binary package hint: nautilus

I'm using the latest Nautilus on Intrepid.

According to the gnome 2.24 release notes the new compact view should show thumbnails (http://library.gnome.org/misc/release-notes/2.24/figures/rnusers.nautilus.compact.png.es), but in reality no thumbnails are shown in this new view. Not for pictures, not for videos, seemingly not for any other filetype.

I don't quite get it. Then why does the list view have icons? By default, both views show icons at the same size.

there is an inconsistency there and that should be discussed on bugzilla.gnome.org, but do you really think those images in the list view are useful?

I'm not really sure, I almost always use icon view anyway. But having them in the file chooser (open / save menus) has always been useful to me, and they're not bigger, there.
