Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

When I logon to forum.golf.se (a swedish site) the banner at the bottom of the page goes to the middle of the page, OVER the text. In previous versions i have had no problem with this. However, I recognize this problem from previous versions of the webbrowser Safari. It's fixed in the version I use now. I run safari on my Imac.
I'm using a PC with Linuxdistro UBUNTU ver. 8.04 LTS

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue for you. Can you try with the latest version of Firefox? Thanks in advance.

Hi.
I've forgotten about this one. And no, it's no problem anymore. This is
how I solved the problem. I found the fix on that site. Some other user
have had the same problem.

The problem is that golf.se uses general.useragent.vendor tag to see
which browser you are using, and since the person that boxed firefox for
ubuntu choosed too write in ubuntu instead of firefox, the redering gets
wrong on some pages like forum.golf.se.

But it was easy too fix:

1) Finish firefox and go to library ~/.mozilla/firefox/********.default/
(where ********* is the name of your firefox profil)
2) create a file user.js that containes the row:

user_pref("general.useragent.vendor", "Firefox");

3) start firefox
