Confirming since I've seen this bug too. I think it has to do with the updates possibly moving symlinks and libraries around (note that firefox.sh is located in /usr/lib/firefox-3.0.3/firefox.sh, a location which changes during updates).

I am unable to reproduce this problem.
Does this occur in 3.0.4?
Please try a new profile if it still occurs.
If it still happens please disable all extensions than add back one at a time restarting firefox after each one.

After talking to Alexander from the Mozilla Team, I'm marking this invalid, since the update tells you to restart Firefox for exactly this reason.

Hi, haven't seen this in 3.0.4. I don't believe I assigned myself, was
that directed at me?

It was directed at Lully, who assigned it to themself.

I've had the same issue since the update, except Firefox "hangs" on most any website. Error log shows various errors, mostly parsing errors on such things as "property float", "unknown property word-wrap" and others. I have disabled all the add-ons to no affect. It worked fine with original Ubuntu 8.10 distro (Firefox 3.0.4), but has not worked since installing the first system update that included Firefox 3.0.5.
