No saved passwords after firefox update

After updating several firefox related packages this morning (firefox-3.0 being one of them), all my saved passwords were gone and it wouldn't ask me to save my passwords when I re-entered them.

my passwords are still remembered. Please be sure that you restarted your firefox properly (relogin to be sure).

I even removed the profile (of course copied to somewhere else), created a new one and still doesn't record passwords...
