Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

Package:openoffice.writer
I was trying to edit a 60 pages document.
The OO crashed without an explanation.
An auto-restore module doesn't work,I just scroll the document to the middle and OO crashes again.
I'd better use Kword.
I have the most recent Ubuntu with Russian langpacks. And i expect this damned program to WORK!!!

Thank you for reporting this bug. Could you please attach the long document that caused OpenOffice.org to crash? Once you do that, we can try and see if this issue is still present in version 1:2.4.1-9ubuntu2, which is the version in Intrepid.

I coudn't save the document because of crash. It had 60 pages and I when I scrolled down, the program faded away without any explanation. And the "document resurrection" couldn't help me either: the program crashed again when the process was finished. I was trying to paste 6 more pages.I have a backup of document - a previous version, but OO handles it without any crashes...at least for now.The format is ODT.

I can't reproduce this crash on Intrepid with the supplied file. I am not sure if the bug is fixed or not, if you are able to reproduce the problem again please feel free to reopen the bug.

Can you still reproduce this bug on Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid)?

With the new file I can't reproduce the crash on Intrepid either.
