gentoo file manager cannot copy or delete files

Bug Description

Attempting to copy or delete files does not work. Permissions would allow these
operations.

In the case of attempting to copy a simple file there is a error message:-

Couldn't copy "/home/tony/xxx": No such file or directory (code 2)

Delete just doesn't work and gives no message.

I use gentoo filemanager with other distros and know it works in them.

I have further info on this. The problem seems to be linked to the fact that
Ubuntu does not have a real root user and uses sudo for root access.

If I set up a vncserver to run as root on the target computer and then access
the target computer via vncviewer from another computer, then gentoo works properly.

Starting gentoo with the --root-ok flag from a root shell directly on the
computer however does not allow gentoo to work properly, nor does starting
gentoo as a non-root user.

Thanks for the bug report Tony.
I can't reproduce this on dapper (gentoo 0.11.46-1).
Is the bug still present for you, and if it is, could you precise which version of ubuntu and gentoo you're using?

I am using Breezy and gentoo 0.11.46-1, the bug is still present as originally described.

Tony: any chance you can test this on Dapper? With a live cd perhaps?

looking at the changelog of 0.11.56 I see an item that sounds like it might fix this issue
