Bug Description

Binary package hint: pidgin

The YIM client keeps disabling itself with a connection error 0 and telling me to log into the Yahoo website. I've done that a number of times now but the problem persists.

MSN fails to work. It does not send my messages to others on my list, I don't receive messages sent to me, "The message could not be sent because a connection error occured" is the most frequent message I receive. Or something along those lines. I've ended up simply disabling MSN.

The only program that does work in a somewhat stable manner is AIM.

I don't know about the MSN issue, but I too get the "Unknown error number 0. Logging into the Yahoo! website may fix this."

This Yahoo bug is known upstream, and according to the upstream bug report, the fix is fixed in their source, to be released in 2.5.2.

I have not investigated further, but the specific revision is available at:

Thanks Aaron, the patch from the upstream bug in indeed in 2.5.2, and in Intrepid, so I'm closing this bug as fixed. Please feel free to re-open it if you are still experiencing the issue with 2.5.2
