pop-up messages appear on top center area of a screen

When new messages have arrived, pop-ups have appear not in the bottom-right corner of a screen as they should be, but on a top of a screen, in the center of it. And they place not one behind another, but one under another, in some cascade way. Very annoying...

Please be a more little clear about what pop-up messages you are talking of. Also say which version of the software you are using and which version of Ubuntu you are using.

Those pop-ups, that appear when somebody send me a message. Kopete icon in system-tray starts to rotate, and above this icon there is should be a small pop-up with a message and "view or ignore" sign. But this messages appear not above system tray icon, but at the top of my screen. And if there is a lot of them - they are not hiding behind each other, but they they're dropping one by one from the top to the bottom.

P.S. This bug happens when in "Notification" menu i have choose "pop-up window" option in "Incoming message". But sometimes it happens even without this option marked!!!)))

I installed Intrepid Alpha 6 and have been running apt-get update; apt-get upgrade daily. I believe I'm in sync with Intrepit Beta now.

I can confirm that behavior.

All of Kopete's notifications show on the top of the screen instead of besides the tray icon. That includes "John Doe is now Online" kind of notifications and also when someone sends you a message.

Although in the case of messages, the notification comes and goes away in less than 1 second. Most of the time I'm not able to read them.

All other notifications (Skype, KNetworkManager, KDE Crash Handler, Adept Notification, etc.) show in the appropriate place.

This will be fixed in KDE 4.2 with the new notification system built into the systray.
