Bug Description

When bolding italicized text, the text turns into non-italicized bold. When italicizing bold text, the text turn into italicized non-bold. I cannot configure text to be both bold and italicized at the same time. Tested in version 0.26 on Kubuntu 8.04.

This is not a bug but a feature, see bug #239854 for discussion on how to extend styles.

If this is intentional behaviour, then it is inconsistent with all other applications that allow text formating. I know of no other application that allows text formating which behaves in this manner. Therefore, please reopen the bug and change the title to "Zim formating behaviour inconsistent with with established, intuitive behaviour."

I am not familiar with the Gnome HIG (I am not even sure if Zim is considered a Gnome application, I mention it because of the GTK widgetset), but other HIGs that I am familiar with either discourage or prohibit such inconsistent behaviour.
