Bug Description

Binary package hint: brasero

I tried to burn an ISO disk image to a CD-RW disk. Brasero (0.7.1-3ubuntu1) tells the disk is not supported. For what it is worth, the disk is Maxell 4-12x high speed CD-RW 700MB. K3b burns to that disk.

OS: 8.04

Thanks for the report, that works fine for me, could you get a brasero log with : brasero --debug &> brasero-log.txt and attach it to the report? it would be good if you may test the same with an Intrepid installation. thanks in advance.

I may try the given command, if I have to burn something to such a disc. Or I just use K3b again, if I am in hurry. Pedro Villavicencio, did you try with exactly same kind of CD-RW disc and same version of software and still succeeded in burning an ISO image by Brasero?

No i don't have that exact model of CD-RW but i've tried to burn iso images with brasero and it works fine, did you stopped the operation by hand? could perform the operation to get the bad behavior and get a log of that? because there's no indication of an error there in the log. It would be nice also if you can try the same with Intrepid since it has a newer version of the software, thanks.

Brasero stopped burning and gave some error message dialog in both versions. See line "(brasero:12419): BraseroBurn-DEBUG: At burn.c:797: the media is not supported" in the first log. At least for the newer version, I had to quit Brasero manually.
