Bug Description

Binary package hint: totem

First of all: I'm not using GNOME, but just an X session with compiz.

When I launch "totem", the player comes up with a playlist full of files loaded from all subdirectories of my home dir (also hidden ones). I expected TOTEM not to load any file in the playlist at startup, or at least to load those from my last totem run.

I sign this as a bug because I expect TOTEM to behave well even outside the GNOME desktop environment...

Questions:
1) Can I controll TOTEM playlist to DO NOT load anything at startup or to load files from a specific directory (from preferences, for example)?
2) What do I miss in launching TOTEM from a simple desktop environment such as a clean X with a windowmanager?

Thank you in advance,

luca

you are the first one to describe this issue, it's likely something specific to your installation

Dear Sebastien,

thank you for your quick answer. The behaviour I just described comes from launching TOTEM from "grun", a GTK launcher that I pop-up to start program in my plain-vanilla-compiz environment. In fact, runnig TOTEM from an xterm works well.

So, the problem is with grun, not a TOTEM bug. We can close the thread.

Anyway, I recast my question: is there any config file or way to tell TOTEM to automatically load a playlist on startup?

Thankyou again,

luca

closing the bug since that's not one, no there is no option to automatically load a playlist on start, that would be a request to add on bugzilla.gnome.org rather if you really think that would be useful
