Bug Description

Intrepid/powerpc seems to be lacking any installable linux kernel, in fact it's also missing the "linux-meta" generated meta-packages such as "linux-image-powerpc"

this causes the install images to lack an installable kernel as well
(see http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ports/daily/current/intrepid-alternate-powerpc+ps3.list)

the main cause for all of this seems to be that builds are failing
(see e.g. http://launchpadlibrarian.net/17507831/buildlog_ubuntu-intrepid-powerpc.linux_2.6.27-3.4_FAILEDTOBUILD.txt.gz ):

No, it's expected that linux will fail to build on powerpc, since the powerpc kernel is now built from a separate source package, linux-ports.

The missing powerpc metapackages are bug 253904. (I don't understand why this is taking so long to fix.)
