Bug Description
Binary package hint: landscape-client
The landscape-common dpkg-reconfigure screen allows one to select how that information is displayed during login.
If "use update-motd" is selected, the script should also make sure that update-motd itself is enabled, or else nothing will be displayed on.
On the other hand, enabling it would allow all scripts in /etc/update-motd.d to spill their output on login, so it may be unexpected. The best solution for now is probably to have it tell the user that update-motd is currently disabled and that it needs to be enabled in that case. I suspect all future scripts using update-motd should have this logic.
