Bug Description

Binary package hint: kde-guidance

This is a minimal impact SRU, having no impact to any users not using / wishing to use proprietary nvidia drivers. In total the patch changes 1 line of code.

kde-guidance (displayconfig) uses the existence of certain driver files to detect if the proprietary driver files are installed. One of the files used for detection of the nvidia driver is moved in all recent packages, leading to failed detection.

The libglx.so has been moved from /usr/lib/xorg/modules/ to /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/

All the nvidia packages has this file in it's new location:
nvidia-glx
nvidia-glx-envy
nvidia-glx-legacy
nvidia-glx-legacy-envy
nvidia-glx-new
nvidia-glx-new-envy

Regression potential: None, as no packages in hardy has the file in it's old collection.

kde-guidance has been removed from intrepid, so not applicaple to be fixed there.

Attached debdiff for the version currently in hardy-updates fixes this.

Test case: If you have proprietary nvidia drivers installed, and a nvidia card listed as working with proprietary drivers it should be possible to choose them in displayconfig.

I've reproduced this issue with the version of guidance-backends in hardy-updates, 0.8.0svn20080103-0ubuntu16.1, and can confirm that the guidance-backends in hardy-proposed, version 0.8.0svn20080103-0ubuntu16.2, addresses the issue. Marking verification done.

(BTW, it's helpful to subscribe the sru-verification team to bugs that need verification. Thanks.)
