Bug Description

Hi.
I'm running qemu for linux with kqemu on a 64bit linux box (Ubuntu 8.04).
I have successfully installed redhat 4 enterprise linux AS update 3 and also update 7, obviously at 64bit.
All seems fine.

After I have installed Veritas Volume Manager without errors, but vxconfigd that is the main daemons doesn't start.

In attach you have the strace of the start.

Veritas Volume manager works fine with other emulator such VMWARE Server or workstation but on this machine I need to use qemu because I haven't Intel VT that is requirement of VMware.
