Bug Description
Binary package hint: elisa
I've noticed that elisa was updated today in Intrepid, from 0.3.5 to 0.5.9. Since 0.5.10 has been released and presents many exciting new features, might that version be included?
From the elisa mailing list:
"The Elisa team is happy to announce the release of Elisa Media Center
0.5.10 codenamed "Fallout".
A very important and long awaited improvement of this release is the
rewrite from scratch of the video, audio and slideshow players user
interface. The team is proud to present a brand new look with a strong
focus on aesthetics and extensibility; it is fully pluggable and new
controls can easily be added via plugins.
A fair number of bugs were also fixed during this cycle (14
bugs).
On top of these bug fixes, this release also introduces the following
new features:
- Scanning of media now indexes videos and generates sensible automatic
playlists such as Unwatched Videos, Recently Added Videos, Recently
Watched,
etc.
- Window control buttons: iconify, maximize, close
- Visual display of the source of media (Local Network, Computer,
Web Service,etc.)
- New D-Bus API to navigate automatically to specific sections of Elisa
- Removal of media from the library (optional via configuration option)"
The fact is that the elisa team release a new 0.5.x version every weeks.
These versions can be considered as minor version (they contain bugfixes) or major versions (they contain new features).
So the question is should we update the intrepid package every week (to give the bugfixes to users) or should we freeze to the last 0.5.x version available before feature freeze ?
