Bug Description

Under Ubuntu 8.10 alpha 5, updated as of 15 September, with kernel 2.6.27-3.

When I boot my hp Pavilion dv9815nr, I have to hold down any key (typically I use Ctrl) to get the kernel to go through the initial boot-up phase. The hangs are initially most notable around the initial usb enumerations.

Attached is a dump from dmesg -- at 216sec, I proceeded to begin to hold down the Ctrl key, which caused the boot process to actually progress.

I am booting with the command-line "root=UUID=62b75eef-7da9-4e5c-994f-2226f2fe8fc3 ro vga=normal".

This same problem was present in 2.6.27-2, but not the 2.6.24-19 that Ubuntu 8.04 used.
