Bug Description

No matter how many themes I change in the gtk-qt-engine, open office would not pick it up. Firefox is able to pick it and make appropriate changes, however open office never follows the same.

That's because OpenOffice isn't a gtk application.

However OpenOffice is unusable when gtk-qt-engine is turned on. The menus cannot be properly displayed. I do not know much about this but I think maybe OO.o renders through GTK.

OK, I don't care whether OO.o is or is not a GTK app. All I know is that I have to turn off gtk-qt-sytle in order for it to display properly, so I think it is a bug. (I'm using amd64 intrepid).

That would seem to be the opposite of this bug, which states that no matter what he does, he can't get gtk-qt-engine to theme OOo at all.

Ok here is the thing I have found. OO follows the theme of my desktop when I am in gnome. If I change the color or themes it gets reflected in OO too. I do the same in qt with gtk-qt-engine but the color or the style or fonts do not work out for OO.

This makes me feel that OO is reading some other things compared to what gtk-qt is changing. My firefox is taking the setting in the gtk-qt but OO would never take this. This has happened only in KDE4. I recall in KDE3.5 this was not an issue. Hence I raised the bug stating OO integration has gone bonkers with KDE4.

Changing status to new as I think Invalid is not being worked on by devs.

There are two themes for OpenOffice.org, openoffice.org-style-crystal and openoffice.org-style-human.
The crystal style is a style that emulates the look of you KDE3 apps based on your KDE3 apps' style settings. The human style is a style that makes OpenOffice look like gnome.

Currently OPenOffice does not have a theme for KDE4, so it will look like a KDE3 app until a KDE4 theme is created. Bug 197404 is tracking this.
