Subject: Proposed config could prevent cupsys from running (cupsd: Child exited with
status 98)
Package: cupsys
Version: 1.1.23-13
Severity: important
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

I've updated my cupsys packages and answered the debconf questions with
the values you can see at the end of this mail. The resulting proposed
config contained:
in /etc/cups/
in /etc/cups/
This now leads to the following error, when cupsys tries to start:
| Starting Common Unix Printing System: cupsd
| cupsd: Child exited with status 98!
You can only have one of the above entries, but not both together. You
should check for an existing 'Port' entry and comment it, if a 'Listen'
entry is made /etc/cups/
problem.
Regards, Daniel

If you look inside the PPD, you will see which package they came
from. If you can mail them all to me, I can test here.

It should just skip non-Gutenprint PPDs. I'm afraid without a log, I
can't do much about it. If it happens again, please let me know
(under a new bug report, please).

You aren't alone. This is a problem with the new cupsys package which
was uploaded yesterday. You can see more in Bugs #343292 and #343251,
including how to fix it.
