Bug Description

I've been experiencing lock-ups for a long time and I've been trying to figure out what's causing the symptoms by logging in remotely from another computer and running gdb attached to the Xorg pid... Until now has that proven fruitless but today I got something different:

Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
0xaee3d0e2 in r300ReleaseDmaRegion () from /usr/lib/dri/r300_dri.so

At the time of the incident I was trying to log into my gmail account and it was animating the text-cursor activating in the login-name prompt.

My graphics card is a ATI Raden 9800 XT 256 MB with the proprietary driver enabled.
