Bug Description
Hello friends, I'm using Hardy Heron 8.04.1, Linux kernel version 2.6.24-19-generic. My machine is a Dell Inspiron 1525 Laptop with 2x Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5550 @ 1.83GHz Processor, and 2GB of Ram (I'm herewith attaching a full specs of my machine generated using the tool HardInfo). Here goes my problem.
I'm running firefox and totem now. My System Monitor shows a cpu usage of 30% in both of my processors. I was running on AC power when my cpu showed 30%. Now when i unplug the ac power, and run on battery power, my system monitor shows both cpu usage as 60%. I did the same thing for almost ten times and am finding the same thing. This is the most peculiar problem which one can encounter. Please find me a solution for this as increased cpu load in battery mode means more battery power consumption which is not good.
Thanks for your bug report.
Could you please run either "top" in a terminal or "System -> Administration -> System Monitor (and sort on cpu)" and attempt to identify which processes are using most cpu when you switch from power to battery.
