Bug Description

Using Intrepid Ubuntu 64 bit Kernel 2.6.27-3-generic. Phone is a Sony Ericsson K800i. Default Bluetooth Applet 0.25 (no additional bluetooth packages installed). Sent a basic text file from PC to Phone works OK (right click on icon and selected Send To), but if I set the PC to accept incoming files the file is sent but the file name displayed is 'Unknown' on the desktop (text inside file is fine) - Original file is attached and was created with Gedit.
All other problems seen have already been reported.

The bluetooth stack in intrepid recently underwent a signfiicant change: could you retest with the updated stack, and confirm this problem still exists?

Yes, the programs have changed a lot. The Bluetooth Applet is now 1.8 in Kernel 2.6.27.7 with all new updates installed. The phone can be paired using Setup new device (right-clicking the bt icon). It's set to always visible. The is no option to automatically receive a file from the phone, but I am able to browse the files on the phone and successfully copy (to the PC) via the browser. If I just send a file from the K800i phone the transmission fails and nothing is display on the PC (before there would be a message asking if I wanted to accept the file received by the PC). Is this function still required ? If so then there is a problem. Please advise.

actually, OBEX FTP and OBEX PUSH are two different methods to access bluetooth enabled device. The last doesn't require pairing and just ask to accept or decline an item. Seems that 8.10 Intrepid doesn't have such ability "out the box" and I can't find (still but not totally) sjutable package providing the functionality needed.
So I consider it kind a problem.

I can't confirm this is still a problem as I'm no longer using Intrepid.

It was perhaps an issue with obex-data-server.
