This appears to be a failure in libqt-perl; reassigning.

As a workaround, you should be able to get these packages configured if you choose a different front-end for debconf by setting, e.g., DEBIAN_FRONTEND=dialog in your environment before invoking the package manager.

I got a similar error, but I'm not really sure it is related. Anyway, I'm reporting it here. Doing an upgrade using the ubuntu-8.10-alternate-i386.iso, I got the following message:

Não foi possível instalar 'libpam-runtime'
(it was not possible to install 'libpam-runtime')

sub-processo post-installation script retornou estado de saída de erro 2
(sub-process post-installation script returned error state code 2)

I'm still upgrading, so I don't know yet how critical is this bug. Later on I'll report what happened.
