Bug Description

Binary package hint: fast-user-switch-applet

I'm using amd64 Intrepid Alpha 5. The user switch applet in Gnome has an option 'Guest Session' but every time I click on it, only a blank white screen will be displayed. No guest desktop loads, although the mouse focus shows a spinning circle for about 10 seconds indicating something is loading. I can halt the unsuccessful guest session by 'Ctrl+Alt+Backspace'. I will be prompted my password, and after entering the password my own session recovers.

I have KDE 4.1 installed besides Gnome, if that matters.

When I try the guest user option, I get the hardy background and no panels and no right click menu. Accessing the guest user also crashes compiz
