[dapper] display problems

I'm experiencing problems with the neomagic driver running under Ubuntu Dapper :
the colours are inversed (green for red, for example) and the icons are
misplaced also. There are also a lot of other little display bugs that are quite
difficult to describe (for example "traces" of the windows on the desktop and so
on).
My mouse (Samsung Optical Wheel Mouse PS/2) is also no more running (was running
well with Breezy).

You can see some of my problems : icons on the panel that are quite strange,
colours problems (Ubuntu logo) and "traces" on the desktop.

I updated my system today (with also xserver-xorg-*'s packages) and there's no
display problem anymore.
